I know...I've been MIA for awhile. So sorry, folks. My life has been insanely chaotic since before the New Year.
The first week of January was awful. I was sick with a terrible cold/flu thing, on top of getting my usual migraine during "that time of the month" and it was brutal. I was so exhausted and had the fever and chills that go along with the winter crud. I was so bummed because I had set a goal to run every day and was taken out of the game for five days.
Once I was well enough I started running again. January is so cold in Wisconsin so I didn't dare try to do this outside but I managed to run three days per week at the gym. Then at the beginning of February I was benched once again. It turns out I had a kidney stone, 8 mm, and I needed to have an ureteroscopy and laser lithotripsy to remove it. I missed six days of work, and couldn't exercise for two weeks due to the stent that was placed to prevent blockage in the ureter.. I'm not even sure how I survived this a second time (yes, I had this same surgery for a 6 mm stone in 2012). I was going stir crazy and could not wait to get back to work.
Here we are, end of February, and back into my routine. I'm working out 5-6 days a week most of the time. I've dropped 15 pounds since January 1, and 30 total since November 1. That's pretty great progress, even if's not as fast as I'd like.
Next weekend is the Point Bock Run. I'm to run 5 miles and while I've been training, it hasn't been as consistent due to these little setbacks. But I'm just going to do it. I may have to walk some of the time but the goal is to finish it in less time than it took me in 2017.
I'm feeling amazing, y'all. I feel fit. I feel fabulous.
Here's to the next phase of this journey!
